Sustainability

Building responsible digital infrastructure

Practical choices that create long-term value for our customers, communities and the environment. We extend the life of existing data centers, procure renewable energy and act as a responsible partner in the communities we serve.

Extending the life of existing infrastructure

Reducing environmental impact through reuse

We believe that reusing and modernising existing facilities can play an important role in reducing environmental impact.

Rather than developing new sites, wherever possible, we focus on upgrading, expanding and operating existing data center infrastructure to modern standards, helping to minimise the embodied carbon associated with new construction while delivering resilient environments for our customers.

Focus areas

  • Refurbishing and modernising existing facilities
  • Extending the useful life of critical infrastructure
  • Improving operational efficiency
  • Investing in future-ready data center upgrades

Renewable energy procurement

Supporting the transition to lower carbon energy

Energy is one of the most important topics in the data center industry.

Stellanor procures electricity backed by Renewable Energy Guarantee of Origin (REGO) certificates and works closely with energy providers to increase transparency around energy sourcing. As part of our sustainability roadmap, we will continue to explore opportunities that support a more sustainable energy future.

Current focus

  • 100% renewable electricity procurement through REGO-backed contracts
  • Improved energy transparency and reporting
  • Exploration of future energy initiatives
  • Ongoing efficiency improvements across our facilities

We believe transparency is essential and are committed to clearly communicating our progress as our sustainability programme evolves.

Creating value in our communities

More than a data center operator

We operate in the heart of the communities we serve and believe responsible infrastructure should deliver benefits beyond the data center itself.

We work to build strong relationships with residents, local organisations, educational institutions, charitable partners and public stakeholders, ensuring we remain a trusted and valued part of the communities where we operate. We support local causes through fundraising and community outreach initiatives that contribute to the wellbeing and resilience of the areas we serve.

Community engagement

  • Community events and local partnerships
  • Educational and skills initiatives
  • Open dialogue with local stakeholders
  • Supporting responsible urban development
  • Charitable work

Our sustainability journey

Looking ahead

We recognise that sustainability is a journey, not a destination.

As we continue to grow, Stellanor is developing a broader sustainability roadmap that will help shape our future priorities and establish measurable outcomes across environmental, social and governance initiatives.

Our ambition is simple:

To build and operate digital infrastructure that delivers lasting value for customers, communities and the environment through responsible action and transparent reporting.

Always ready to help
